Viewable from Forest Park during the 1904 world's fair, Brookings Hall was, and continues to be, the façade of Washington University. It is therefore unsurprising that the bathroom located next to the admissions office is most decidedly dressed-to-impress.
Case in point: upon entering the women's room one practically stumbles over a fairly ornate, and assuredly non-functional, fireplace with a plant placed in front of it. This unusual fixture, however, is quickly forgotten once one notices the puzzling layout; due to the odd, kitty-cornered stalls, it is somewhat unclear which bathroom is for handicapped patrons. This fact, however, is generally forgivable due to a good set of facilities - namely, nice vanity style mirrors and coat hooks.
While the ambiance of this bathrooms is good - albeit a little *ahem* forced - don't stop by unless you want garner jealous looks from Wash U hopefuls. Also, be thankful that as a current student at Wash U, you get to choose from a full range of less-pretentious options.
