Mallinckrodt. Across from room 32

One of the questions that arose when WUBathrooms.com was still in its conceptual stage was: which bathrooms should be covered? The decision was made early on that "private" bathrooms - bathrooms in dorm rooms (this was before we decided to skip the dormitories all together) or those in large faculty offices, for example - would be skipped, despite the fact that these are probably some of the most interesting bathrooms on campus.

Mallinckrodt Hall, one of the most "public" buildings on campus, has one of the more private bathrooms in it, on the third floor, across from room 320, near the theater studies offices. Despite having a fairly standard design scheme (though these bathrooms (particularly the men's room) are perhaps a bit more spacious than the average bathroom), certain touches (doubtless due to the fact that the vast majority of its patrons are the faculty members whose offices are nearby) elevate it to a somewhat higher level.

The extreme low-traffic of these bathrooms is certainly a positive aspect, as is the charming picture of four people in period costume that can be found in the women's room. The bathrooms are clean, and even smelled pleasant at the time of our review (needless to say, that is a rare occurrence). The bathrooms have good sinks, with unusually good water pressure, and decent mirrors (though the one in the women's room is inconveniently placed).
