McDonnell's bathrooms were all a pleasant surprise to this reviewer. Bathrooms tend to reflect the character of the buildings that contain them, and McDonnell's oppresive character is not one that you'd want carried over to its bathrooms. Thankfully, the bathrooms are all distinctly above-average, and one pair - on the first floor next to the vending machines - is certainly a star.
Both of the bathrooms feature large frosted windows, which give them lighting that is close to ideal (particularly in the women's room). Their color scheme is a pleasant-yet-sophisticated black and white, and the slate floors give the restrooms a distinct cool feel.
The facilities also rank highly. There are many stalls, great sinks, ample space and a good floorplan. Feminine products were availible, accessible, and copious, despite the fact that these bathrooms are relatively heavily trafficked.
Indeed, their popularity lends them their one great flaw - an occasional lack of cleanliness. Despite this, however, these bathrooms are clearly the star in McDonnell, and even merit the trip over from Wilson, if you happen to be there when nature calls.
