Prince. Basement, near room 10

The basement of Prince Hall features two of the most distinctive bathrooms on campus. The women's room, located near room 10, is almost startling. While many campus bathrooms show their age or are in visible states of disrepair, the Prince basement women's room screams "decrepit" more loudly than any other bathroom this reviewer can think of.

It is difficult to think of a starting point for a description of this bathroom's state of affairs. Is it best to begin with the chipping walls and peeling paint? The filthy, rusty clogged drain? The dilapidated shower? Indeed, the bathroom looks as if , severely needing a renovation, workers began to renovate it and stopped a week later because of budgetary concerns.

Even ignoring its broken-down aspect, the ambiance of this bathroom is bizarre and off-putting. Dull blue walls clash with stall dividers which have a distinctive saturated orange color. A dark blue chair (of the type ubiquitous in elementary school classrooms) is curiously present - placed in the corner next to the sinks. The bathroom also contains (a hopefully rarely-used) shower.

Indeed, if any of Washington University's bathrooms deserve a visit as attractions, the two bathrooms in the basement of Prince are those. Like Bauhaus and WILD, the women's room's shocking level of "broken-downness" is one of those things that every Washington University student should see.
