Ridgley. Near room 300

There are two faces to Ridgley Hall. The first is the "Holmes Lounge" section - Ridgley's charming and attractive face to the majority of those who visit it. The other section is the rest of the building, which houses the offices of Washington University's language departments as well as those of several other groups. While Holmes Lounge is old, charming, kept in good order, and has been recently renovated, the rest of Ridgley is far less attractive.

The bathrooms in the academic section of Ridgley are much like the non-Holmes-Lounges section of the hall itself - cramped, dark, unattractive, and about 20 years past their prime. The third floor bathroom (near room 3300), for example, looks as if it was constructed in the seventies (with an out-of-date color scheme), and as if it has not been well kept since then. While the facilities are relatively new, the bathrooms are rusty and visually unappealing.

Furthermore, while we at WUBathrooms.com are far from experts in accessibility, it strikes us that the bathroom's crampedness would render it inaccessible to wheelchair patrons (it certainly makes it slightly claustrophobic for our able reviewers).

While the bathroom is rusted, it seemed generally clean otherwise, and is an acceptable option if one finds oneself in that section of Ridgley and is looking for a bathroom.
