(One of Wash U's Four Worst Bathrooms.)
Umrath Hall is one of Washigton University's older buildings. Like McMillan Hall and Prince Hall, it began its life as a turn-of-the-century dormitory. And, like those buildings, it has not been renovated in a long time, and, consequently, its bathrooms betray its age.
Umrath's men's room, on the second floor near room 258, is not one of the campus's better bathrooms. The facilities are bare-bones and manual, with poor sinks and rusty urinals; the bizarre marble trim dividers are old and dirty; and the mirror is small and poorly-placed. The room's one window is nice, but does little to help the lighting situation which is (pardon the pun) dim.
Not only does the bathroom have dirt problems as a result of age (witness the dirty walls and mildew-ridden tiles in the photo accompanying this review), but our reviewers found it dirty on several evaluative visits. Dirtiness, below-average facilities, and poor lighting make the Umrath men's room a bathroom worth avoiding, if possible.
